Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been many times, these are five experiences that, to me, capture the quintessential essence of Paris. They’re the ones I find myself recommending to my travel planning clients again and again (and repeating myself!)
1. See the Eiffel Tower Sparkle
Yes, it’s iconic. Yes, it’s touristy. But it is magic everyone should experience in their lifetime. The Eiffel Tower’s glittering lights remain one of Paris’ most magical sights. That said, I recommend steering clear of the crowds at Trocadero or the Champ de Mars lawn, both of which feel increasingly overrun these days (sadly.) Instead, opt for something a bit more elevated (literally and figuratively): The Peninsula Rooftop offers a sophisticated perch with panoramic views. It’s hard to beat sipping a perfectly crafted cocktail while the tower twinkles on the hour! For something a bit more low-key but equally charming, I love standing on Pont Alexandre III. The bridge itself is a work of art, and you’ll get a perfect sightline of the Iron Lady with the Seine as your backdrop. C'est magnifique!
